Hailing from Kilkenny Ireland, Shutterbug, have a uniqueness which makes customers come back again and again. With unique vintage pieces sourced from all over the world they have started to conquer.
Shutterbug started back in 2010 when Blanaid Henessy and her brother decided, with their numorous stock and Blanaid’s sense of style, to set up Shutterbug Vintage. Blanaid’s sense of style is unmatchable…she can see what goes and what is perfect for each individual. This is why her store is impeccably styled and has unique vintage pieces in it to suit any style and any age.
“The ‘Shutterbug/Folkster’ girl, to us, is the kind of girl we’d want to be friends with, go for drinks and chats with – the type of person who isn’t defined by any one style, who looks for inspiration in the unlikeliest of places – from the still sea to the stars, from the desert to the archetrave of the door of a building that is passed by hundreds of people and rarely noticed. Always scouting and never afraid to feel something about everything.”
Located on 27 Patrick Street, Kilkenny, Shutterbug has started it’s online invasion, with their online store Folkster.com, as well and it has become fruitfull as a lot of bloggers, internationally and local, have started to see that Shutterbug could add so much to their wardrobe.
Graveyardgirl, international vlogger, has held giveaways and has worn some pieces from Shutterbug which has opened Shutterbug to the world. Also Angela Scanlon, Irish stylist and presenter, has been telling the world about Shutterbug, featured in Who What Wear she mentions her favourite online store Folkster where you can find unique items.
Shutterbug staff think about the customer and they know that the ‘old school customer service’ is the way to a good relationship with their potentially loyal customer and that is why people keep coming back. With the help of Blanaid Hennessy’s, Mary-Kate Lanigan’s, Brid Ni Laochdha’s, Caoimhe Moran’s and Paula Doolin’s honest styling tips the customer leaves Shutterbug with an experience where they can’t find in most stores.
With their pieces being reasonably priced, it makes a shopping trip that won’t break the bank.
This shows the bright future of the fashion in Ireland, because finally the ones with style are making their voices heard. It is showing, after Ireland not really being noticed, that we Irish do have style and know how to dress. Thanks to Blanaid and her shop she is bringing uniqueness which has always lacked in Ireland to the young adults who are being influenced and finally we can see stylish people walk the streets.
It has been and is still a slow process but I do think that Ireland will be on par with other cities like London, New York or LA.
The future for Shutterbug is bright as bright as some of their gorgeous sequined and glitter jackets and tops. You will definitely see Shutterbug conquer the world one unique vintage piece at a time and make Ireland, along with others, a stylish nation.
*This post was created with my opinion. Wasn’t paid to do this…. I just love their store so much 🙂
