Lush Retread Conditioner Review

Making my hair go through so many colours and bleach really has weighed it’s toll and this is why I am trying to rescue it. Searching for so many nourishing conditioners etc etc and not finding anything has made me doubt that I will ever rescue my hair..until I went into Lush in Cork and was recommended the Retread conditioner.

She also recommended the shampoo but because my funds were too low I didn’t get it as well. However I will get it as well as the conditioner this Wednesday when I travel up to Dublin for the Warehouse AW14 Press Preview (look out for that blog post soon!).

You might have guessed my thoughts on it from that sentence but I will tell you anyway. The conditioner smells delicious and it’s got mostly natural ingredients.

Agar Infusion (Gelidium cartilagineum) , Propylene Glycol , Soya Milk (Glycine soja) , Cetearyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate , Fresh Cantaloupe Melon (Cucumis Cantalupensis) , Olive Oil (Olea europaea) ,Perfume , Natural Yoghurt , Avocado Oil (Persea gratissima) , Lanolin , Cetearyl Alcohol , Cetrimonium Bromide , Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) ,Synthetic Musk , Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata) ,Orange Blossom Absolute (Citrus dulcis) , Neroli Oil (Citrus amara) , *Benzyl Benzoate , Methylparaben ,Propylparaben

Here is what the Lush website says about it.

Retread is our super-smoothing conditioning cream that gives sad hair its shine and bounce back. Use it when your hair is feeling absolutely wrecked. This rich conditioner makes your hair look better, but more importantly, it moisturizes and feeds your hair the nutrients it needs. We use a blend of softening and hydrating ingredients, including seaweed, lanolin, fresh canteloupe and protein-rich yoghurt and soya milk to strengthen locks. Then we blend in olive, jojoba and avocado oils to give a truly deep condition. Together all these ingredients add up to a nutritious heavy weight conditioner. Put a plentiful helping on your hair and let it go to work.

I have to say that it basically does what it says and what it is..I have been using it since the day after I bought it and all I can say is, is that it has made my hair so much better. Before my hair was so brittle and dry and you could definitely see it in the ends. My hair felt like straw. I use it every time I get into the shower and what I do is; I first wash my hair and then get a big handful in my hand and apply it through the middle and ends of my hair because it needs it basically. I then leave it there and continue with my the very end I then rinse it off. The good thing about the conditioner is that it didn’t make my hair greasy and it didn’t weigh it down like others I have tried. After my hair has air dried it always feels so soft and healthy. Even my boyfriend has noticed the difference.

I am at the very end of the pot and have been using it for 2 months now so you can judge how long it will last you. I am going to repurchase it as I have mentioned above (It cost me €15 and worth every cent) and I will be getting the shampoo as well because the shampoo I bought myself to try and nourish my hair is not worth a cent, in my opinion. It dries out my hair even more and hasn’t nourished it at all…it has done nothing basically.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has dry brittle hair and has dyed it a million times. Let me know if you have used it also and what your thoughts are on it.

Hey guys so I’m back (how many times have I said that right?) I have been working non-stop and have lost the motivation to blog but fear not I’ve regained it and hopefully you’re as excited as I am :p

I want to begin this next chapter (In September I’ll be blogging for 3 years?!) with a blog post on the blogger event I recently attended. It was organised by the lovely Sinead from Yummy Mummy Fashion and Lifestyle blog and it was great.

The venue was also beautiful! It was the Gaslight Restaurant at the Meyrick Hotel and my gosh it’s such a beautiful Hotel. It’s bang in the centre of Galway city and it’s close to everything. It’s perfect if you’re there for a city break or a weekend/weekday escape.

I arrived there and was greeted by super stylish bloggers..we were all greeted with cocktails which were amazing!

ST Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse | Review

I am in love with this tan. It’s a mousse and is soooo easy to apply. I applied it with my hands as I have yet to buy a mitt. It’s so easy to apply and streak free! I had moisturized just before applying the tan and it just glided on smoothly. Since I am part of their beauty panel I was sent this product to  review and I am so glad I got to try it! You can purchase it online as of today and it is £33

After applying the tan

I left it on for 2 hours as I wanted more than a glow and I felt it dried in around 10mins. I rinsed it off with warm water as directed in the instructions and was so happy that when I towel dried none of it came off onto it. I was left with a golden glow and since the back did say it would continue to develop during 8 hours I noticed that it slowly continued to get darker.

I felt like it definitely developed during the night and right now I am left with a gorgeous, natural, streak free golden colour. It’s super natural, it looks like you’ve been tanning without actually tanning, obviously.

I definitely recommend this. The applicator dispenses the mousse very well and I didn’t get any of it anywhere so it’s easy and it’s fast.

Definitely would buy this product again! You can get it on the St Tropez website

Can Anyone Do Airbrushed Make Up?

Recently, airbrush makeup has become a hot trend. From celebrities divulging that airbrushing is their number one beauty secret on the red carpet to the prime time makeover shows that have become popular on network TV, airbrushed makeup seems to be just about everywhere. It’s even become a popular option for brides and girls attending their high school proms.

Though, with an airbrush makeup kit, almost anyone can do airbrushing, it never hurts to have a professional do the work. Professionals, who use kits like those found at, have been trained to do airbrushing and have lots of experience. Over the past few years, airbrushing kits have been popular infomercial and drug store beauty items, and though these kits might be fun to try, they don’t produce the high quality work that professionals using professional kits are capable of.

SalonOutlet-FirstBatch-3-2With a high quality kit, you’ll get a look that’s almost natural. One of the many perks of airbrushing is that the spray on application provides a seamless look. So instead of streaks and lines like liquid foundation, you get a smooth finish that’s almost always flawless and looks like you’re not even wearing makeup, and lets be honest we all want that. The applicator can also vary the amount of makeup being sprayed, so you can have a nearly nude finish or a heavier one, if you need to cover more blemishes.

Salon professionals also know that cameras love airbrushed makeup. Since digital cameras can shoot in HD, they are able to show any flaws in your makeup. Having a spray on application means you’ll never have to worry about that. The application is completely seamless, so that you’ll never look at a picture and notice any lines or streaks that are out of place in your makeup which is brilliant!

So what do you think? I haven’t tried it myself and I would actually love to try it to have that airbrush look which I know a lot of us crave and all the celebrities are lucky to have. Have you tried it before?

Quickmax Eyelash Growth Enhancer Review

Hey guys,

it’s been 8 days since I first put on the Quickmax Eyelash Growth Enhancer and I can finally let ye know what I think and if it works. Here’s the initial post

A few days ago…probably 4, I started to notice that my eyelashes were different. I noticed that somehow they seemed fuller and I especially noticed it after applying the mascara. I used the same mascara as always but even before putting it on I noticed that they were a lot fuller. I examined them in the mirror and had seen that I had little eyelashes growing…I was excited.

I have always been sceptical about these growth enhancer thingies and I was definitely convinced that this one was the real deal. I feel like some of them are still growing, and also I can see little eyelashes, because I can feel them poke my eyes when I close them. I showed them to my boyfriend when he came that same day and he also was amazed. He even said can I try haha.

I have more lashes now at the outer corners and this is where, I find, that it grew the most. My eyelashes kinda connect to the bottom ones at the outer corners.

I tried to take a few photos to show but it’s hard to go in really close when I’m the one taking the photos. But hopefully you can see the difference. The eyelash growth enhancer retails at £24.95 which is a bit pricey but you will be able to use it again and again as you only need a tiny amount.

“Among the scientists who developed QuickMax, there is a doctor whose specialty is developing non-prescription skin products that are not only remarkably effective but also completely safe. As a result, QuickMax is made with natural ingredients that are good for your skin. It nourishes your skin and hair follicles while it works. And it’s manufactured in an FDA-approved laboratory.” -from StyleLux website

I can safely say that you will also be happy with this. It says you can use it for your eyebrows on the website so for any of you ladies or guys who want to grow fuller eyebrows definitely try this. My mum wants to try it out because she also saw the difference. It’s on offer right now at that price so I would definitely recommend it. Let me know if you’ve tried it already or what is your opinion on it.

QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer (Before the Review)

Hey guys

I was given the QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer to review from StyleLux.

I have long lashes myself but after being curious if this actually works I wanted to try it myself. I do have to admit though I was a little hesitant but I took the little bottle out of it’s box and read the leaflet. It says to apply it to the roots of your eyelashes and not to worry if it gets in your eye as there are no side effects. I closed one of my eyes and applied it to the root of both of my upper eyelashes. I didn’t do the same with the bottom ones because I wanted to see if it worked. IMG_1989 IMG_1991

It says to leave it absorb for 2 mins and then rinse it off so I did just that. When I applied it, it just felt like cold and gel like on the roots and as I was rinsing it off it didn’t feel like anything so I was happy there was no stinging or anything like that. The photos below are of my natural lashes straight after applying the QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer By the way don’t mind my no make up face and as you can see I do have long-ish eyelashes but I’m curious hehe and I wanted to let ye know if this would be a good product to try.

IMG_1994 IMG_1995 IMG_1997 IMG_1999 IMG_2001

It says that your eyelashes will become fuller and longer in just 7days so lets see what happens…I will report back to ye in a week.

Have ye tried any eyelash grower? Or even this one? Do let me know because I would love to know your opinion and experience.

Baby B Browne Self Tan Review

A week or two ago I received Baby B Browne‘s 250ml face and body medium self tan lotion to review and after trying it out the first time without a kit I was happy with it as it didn’t streak and it smelled really really nice when I was applying it. I kept feeling my legs after because they felt so soft. However my palm was all tanned, obviously. I tried to wash it off but it didn’t budge so I knew I had to buy a mit and also was happy that it wouldn’t transfer onto my clothes once it dried. I applied it again to see how dark it would be when you built it up and I was pleased that it still looked natural.

The first time I tried it I made sure I had exfoliated when I showered and also moisturised after which it says you should do on the leaflet it came with. I later went to bed with it on and after a while I could smell a self tan smell when in bed but I’m guessing that was because I was really warm and I’m sure that when you’re applying this you would wash it off that same day.

I’ll let you know a bit about the brand before I let ye know what I thought when I put it on again with a mitt.

Baby B. Browne is a new self-tanning range developed by Northern Irish company Everyday Cosmetics Ltd. At Baby B. Browne our mission is to provide high quality and affordable self-tanning products for home and professional use that make women look and feel more beautiful.”

“Our moisture rich formulas help achieve a flawless colour and all products are enriched with Aloe Vera to nourish the skin and provide an incredibly even fade.  The Baby B. Browne range is designed to react with your individual skin pigment to create a natural looking colour that is specific to you. All products comes with a guide colour for an easy and streak-free application, dry quickly and create an instantly natural looking and long lasting tan. Our self-tanning lotion is infused with vanilla extracts to create a deliciously fresh fragrance whilst our professional spray tan solutions are fragrance free; with Baby B. Browne products the dreaded self-tan smell is eliminated.”

I finally was able to try it again to be able to review it for you and give you my honest opinion and I had a mitt (my younger sister received self tan for christmas). I applied it as it suggested, to apply it in circular motions, and I only used one pump for the bottom half of my legs and used a pump for the top half of my leg. It went on smoothly as before and the smell was as gorgeous as ever. My palm was also tan free. You do need to leave it dry for around 2-3 mins but that is fine I didn’t find it annoying. I only applied it once and I, again, liked how it looked natural. It does recommend to wear loose clothes after applying it so I put back on my pyjama pants as they’re the only loose pants I’ve got. It didn’t leave any streaks and I can say I’m happy with it.

Without and with

A 250ml bottle costs £14.95 which I think is brilliant as it will last you a bit. I didn’t apply it to the rest of my body however because I know I’ll need help with that but I will another time and report back to ye but all in all I think it’s a brilliant self tan and easy to apply. No streaks and smells good. I would just suggest to wash it off before you go to bed or else in the morning when you wake up because with your body’s heat under your covers it will start to give off that self tan smell. One thing about watching and reading reviews everyone says that after washing it off the tan that stays on your skin is a gorgeous one and the wear off is a natural one so I can’t wait to see how it is once I do that.

Both legs with Baby B Browne Tan

Comparing my skin tone with my tanned legs

I will have an update on the wear of this tan in the next few days.

Hopefully you found this review good and let me know what you think. Have you tried this brand before?

You can find them on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest

Hey guys so I have come back with an update for you and it’s a positive one. I had a shower and the colour that was left on my legs after was as gorgeous and natural so I definitely would recommend this one. I have decided to apply it all over and again it was easy to apply, I also did it by myself. It didn’t streak again and looks natural.

My 2013 Favourites

Hey guys

Hope you have had a gorgeous Christmas and hope 2014 will be a better year for everyone. Think 2013 lived up to its suspicious number 13. It wasn’t a good year for me but at least I am alive I guess.

I will start off my 2013 favourites with beauty items I have been looooving. One of them is my gorgeous Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation. (review here) This is the only high end foundation that I have repurchased and I repurchased it because the colour I was using, BD30, was a bit dark for me so I went to the counter and was suggested BD40 which is surprisingly lighter than BD30 and matches my skin tone. Right now my skin is going through a very dry stage, even more after using the Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask which I showed ye on my Instagram I had seen Claire recommend it as she also has oily skin and she said it was brilliant so I decided to purchase it. However I am not giving up on it. I will be using it in the summer again because, stupid me, didn’t think that the climate in California is waaaaay different to here so Claire probably has oily skin all year around. But anyways that’s why I am going to try it again in the summer when my skin is at it’s oiliest. The Touche Eclat foundation is very good right now for my dry patches and it helps hide them perfectly. BD30 on the left, BD40 on the right.

My next Beauty item is my Bobbi Brown creamy concealer (review here) I never leave the house without concealing my dark circles and that I find is brilliant.

This next item, I bought recently and I have to mention it here though because I have used it a couple of times (every time I went into boots I tried the sample they have out for you to try) and since I’ve got short hair I find it hard to style it and also I’m not good at actually styling my hair, laziness is to blame, so this amazing Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray makes styling your hair easy peasy lemon squeezy! Beside it is my next, recent, favourite and that is my Real Techniques shading brush. I wanted and needed a brush to help me pack on colour onto my crease and this does the job beautifully! I can’t wait to get more of their brushes and by the way that’s my first one! Shocker I know.

These next two are my favourite nail varnishes and they are Intensae nail laquers (read the post on them here) They are truly amazing, luxurious to put on, nail laquers. They are so smooth and easy to put on. You can only put on one coat and you’re done but I always put on two coats. I want to get more because they’re colours are amazing and by judging these two they are well worth the price. First one is Stoker, Second is 1966.

Now on to my favourite fashion items. I have to name my watch first because it’s just too gorgeous. It’s my Michael Kors rose gold watch.

My next favourite is my amazing boyfriend jeans from GypsyWarrior.

Even though these boots kill after walking for ages in them they are and always will be one of my favourite shoes I own. They’re from Zara

These are perfect for the sun. My gorgeous Havana RayBans I received from Pretavoir. Check their sale out because they’ve an amazing sale going on right now! (review here)

This pair of jeggings are a must for everyone. They are by Dr. Denim and I have had them for ages, I got them in Brown Thomas Limerick, I will definitely be getting another pair. If you like flattering skinny jeans then these are a definite must for you.

That concludes my favourites for 2013 and I already know a few that will end up in my 2014 favourites! But let me know what are your favourites this year? Are any of mine the same as yours?

Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne

Ye probably know how much I love strong and sensuous/mysterious scents and I had bought The Body Shop’s White Musk Smokey Rose a while back because I had finished my Coco Chanel perfume and I was on a hunt for another strong and mysterious scent. I do like that perfume still and I normally finish my perfumes before buying another but I still wanted something I guess more special and I guess in a way that Body Shop perfume didn’t satisfy me.

So while in Brown Thomas I went to the Jo Malone counter and the gorgeous lady there, she was super stylish!, asked if I needed assistance and I told her I was looking for a strong scent and that I was stuck with two other ones, Tom Ford’s Black Orchid and Chanel’s Coco Noir. She smelled them and then let me smell one of her favourites and the one she wears herself. Velvet Rose and Oud.

It is a scent that is described on the Jo Malone website as “Darkest Damask Rose. Rich and textural, wrapped with smoky oud wood. Spiked with clove, decadent with praline. Magnetic.”

For me it is sensuous and also mysterious, it is a sort of strong scent but not over powering and I find that it’s gone the next day. Well I can’t smell it on my wrists anymore but it is a beautiful scent. The lady at the Jo Malone counter applied the grapefruit body lotion on top and it did give it a kick which it needs. I didn’t get it because the perfume, itself, is €120 for the 100ml bottle. I am very happy I got it though and definitely feel satisfied with that and have let my other perfume sitting there on the shelf.

I recommend for you to smell it and see what you think and add the grapefruit on top. What do you think? Do you own any Jo Malone fragrances? What is your signature scent? By the way I gotta mention that they package they’re fragrances in a gorgeous box and with a ribbon. It would make a gorgeous Christmas present.

You are Beautiful!
