Lush Retread Conditioner Review

Making my hair go through so many colours and bleach really has weighed it’s toll and this is why I am trying to rescue it. Searching for so many nourishing conditioners etc etc and not finding anything has made me doubt that I will ever rescue my hair..until I went into Lush in Cork and was recommended the Retread conditioner.

She also recommended the shampoo but because my funds were too low I didn’t get it as well. However I will get it as well as the conditioner this Wednesday when I travel up to Dublin for the Warehouse AW14 Press Preview (look out for that blog post soon!).

You might have guessed my thoughts on it from that sentence but I will tell you anyway. The conditioner smells delicious and it’s got mostly natural ingredients.

Agar Infusion (Gelidium cartilagineum) , Propylene Glycol , Soya Milk (Glycine soja) , Cetearyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate , Fresh Cantaloupe Melon (Cucumis Cantalupensis) , Olive Oil (Olea europaea) ,Perfume , Natural Yoghurt , Avocado Oil (Persea gratissima) , Lanolin , Cetearyl Alcohol , Cetrimonium Bromide , Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) ,Synthetic Musk , Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata) ,Orange Blossom Absolute (Citrus dulcis) , Neroli Oil (Citrus amara) , *Benzyl Benzoate , Methylparaben ,Propylparaben

Here is what the Lush website says about it.

Retread is our super-smoothing conditioning cream that gives sad hair its shine and bounce back. Use it when your hair is feeling absolutely wrecked. This rich conditioner makes your hair look better, but more importantly, it moisturizes and feeds your hair the nutrients it needs. We use a blend of softening and hydrating ingredients, including seaweed, lanolin, fresh canteloupe and protein-rich yoghurt and soya milk to strengthen locks. Then we blend in olive, jojoba and avocado oils to give a truly deep condition. Together all these ingredients add up to a nutritious heavy weight conditioner. Put a plentiful helping on your hair and let it go to work.

I have to say that it basically does what it says and what it is..I have been using it since the day after I bought it and all I can say is, is that it has made my hair so much better. Before my hair was so brittle and dry and you could definitely see it in the ends. My hair felt like straw. I use it every time I get into the shower and what I do is; I first wash my hair and then get a big handful in my hand and apply it through the middle and ends of my hair because it needs it basically. I then leave it there and continue with my the very end I then rinse it off. The good thing about the conditioner is that it didn’t make my hair greasy and it didn’t weigh it down like others I have tried. After my hair has air dried it always feels so soft and healthy. Even my boyfriend has noticed the difference.

I am at the very end of the pot and have been using it for 2 months now so you can judge how long it will last you. I am going to repurchase it as I have mentioned above (It cost me €15 and worth every cent) and I will be getting the shampoo as well because the shampoo I bought myself to try and nourish my hair is not worth a cent, in my opinion. It dries out my hair even more and hasn’t nourished it at all…it has done nothing basically.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has dry brittle hair and has dyed it a million times. Let me know if you have used it also and what your thoughts are on it.

Quickmax Eyelash Growth Enhancer Review

Hey guys,

it’s been 8 days since I first put on the Quickmax Eyelash Growth Enhancer and I can finally let ye know what I think and if it works. Here’s the initial post

A few days ago…probably 4, I started to notice that my eyelashes were different. I noticed that somehow they seemed fuller and I especially noticed it after applying the mascara. I used the same mascara as always but even before putting it on I noticed that they were a lot fuller. I examined them in the mirror and had seen that I had little eyelashes growing…I was excited.

I have always been sceptical about these growth enhancer thingies and I was definitely convinced that this one was the real deal. I feel like some of them are still growing, and also I can see little eyelashes, because I can feel them poke my eyes when I close them. I showed them to my boyfriend when he came that same day and he also was amazed. He even said can I try haha.

I have more lashes now at the outer corners and this is where, I find, that it grew the most. My eyelashes kinda connect to the bottom ones at the outer corners.

I tried to take a few photos to show but it’s hard to go in really close when I’m the one taking the photos. But hopefully you can see the difference. The eyelash growth enhancer retails at £24.95 which is a bit pricey but you will be able to use it again and again as you only need a tiny amount.

“Among the scientists who developed QuickMax, there is a doctor whose specialty is developing non-prescription skin products that are not only remarkably effective but also completely safe. As a result, QuickMax is made with natural ingredients that are good for your skin. It nourishes your skin and hair follicles while it works. And it’s manufactured in an FDA-approved laboratory.” -from StyleLux website

I can safely say that you will also be happy with this. It says you can use it for your eyebrows on the website so for any of you ladies or guys who want to grow fuller eyebrows definitely try this. My mum wants to try it out because she also saw the difference. It’s on offer right now at that price so I would definitely recommend it. Let me know if you’ve tried it already or what is your opinion on it.

QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer (Before the Review)

Hey guys

I was given the QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer to review from StyleLux.

I have long lashes myself but after being curious if this actually works I wanted to try it myself. I do have to admit though I was a little hesitant but I took the little bottle out of it’s box and read the leaflet. It says to apply it to the roots of your eyelashes and not to worry if it gets in your eye as there are no side effects. I closed one of my eyes and applied it to the root of both of my upper eyelashes. I didn’t do the same with the bottom ones because I wanted to see if it worked. IMG_1989 IMG_1991

It says to leave it absorb for 2 mins and then rinse it off so I did just that. When I applied it, it just felt like cold and gel like on the roots and as I was rinsing it off it didn’t feel like anything so I was happy there was no stinging or anything like that. The photos below are of my natural lashes straight after applying the QuickMax Eyelash Growth Enhancer By the way don’t mind my no make up face and as you can see I do have long-ish eyelashes but I’m curious hehe and I wanted to let ye know if this would be a good product to try.

IMG_1994 IMG_1995 IMG_1997 IMG_1999 IMG_2001

It says that your eyelashes will become fuller and longer in just 7days so lets see what happens…I will report back to ye in a week.

Have ye tried any eyelash grower? Or even this one? Do let me know because I would love to know your opinion and experience.

Baby B Browne Self Tan Review

A week or two ago I received Baby B Browne‘s 250ml face and body medium self tan lotion to review and after trying it out the first time without a kit I was happy with it as it didn’t streak and it smelled really really nice when I was applying it. I kept feeling my legs after because they felt so soft. However my palm was all tanned, obviously. I tried to wash it off but it didn’t budge so I knew I had to buy a mit and also was happy that it wouldn’t transfer onto my clothes once it dried. I applied it again to see how dark it would be when you built it up and I was pleased that it still looked natural.

The first time I tried it I made sure I had exfoliated when I showered and also moisturised after which it says you should do on the leaflet it came with. I later went to bed with it on and after a while I could smell a self tan smell when in bed but I’m guessing that was because I was really warm and I’m sure that when you’re applying this you would wash it off that same day.

I’ll let you know a bit about the brand before I let ye know what I thought when I put it on again with a mitt.

Baby B. Browne is a new self-tanning range developed by Northern Irish company Everyday Cosmetics Ltd. At Baby B. Browne our mission is to provide high quality and affordable self-tanning products for home and professional use that make women look and feel more beautiful.”

“Our moisture rich formulas help achieve a flawless colour and all products are enriched with Aloe Vera to nourish the skin and provide an incredibly even fade.  The Baby B. Browne range is designed to react with your individual skin pigment to create a natural looking colour that is specific to you. All products comes with a guide colour for an easy and streak-free application, dry quickly and create an instantly natural looking and long lasting tan. Our self-tanning lotion is infused with vanilla extracts to create a deliciously fresh fragrance whilst our professional spray tan solutions are fragrance free; with Baby B. Browne products the dreaded self-tan smell is eliminated.”

I finally was able to try it again to be able to review it for you and give you my honest opinion and I had a mitt (my younger sister received self tan for christmas). I applied it as it suggested, to apply it in circular motions, and I only used one pump for the bottom half of my legs and used a pump for the top half of my leg. It went on smoothly as before and the smell was as gorgeous as ever. My palm was also tan free. You do need to leave it dry for around 2-3 mins but that is fine I didn’t find it annoying. I only applied it once and I, again, liked how it looked natural. It does recommend to wear loose clothes after applying it so I put back on my pyjama pants as they’re the only loose pants I’ve got. It didn’t leave any streaks and I can say I’m happy with it.

Without and with

A 250ml bottle costs £14.95 which I think is brilliant as it will last you a bit. I didn’t apply it to the rest of my body however because I know I’ll need help with that but I will another time and report back to ye but all in all I think it’s a brilliant self tan and easy to apply. No streaks and smells good. I would just suggest to wash it off before you go to bed or else in the morning when you wake up because with your body’s heat under your covers it will start to give off that self tan smell. One thing about watching and reading reviews everyone says that after washing it off the tan that stays on your skin is a gorgeous one and the wear off is a natural one so I can’t wait to see how it is once I do that.

Comparing my skin tone with my tanned legs

I will have an update on the wear of this tan in the next few days.

Hopefully you found this review good and let me know what you think. Have you tried this brand before?

You can find them on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest

Hey guys so I have come back with an update for you and it’s a positive one. I had a shower and the colour that was left on my legs after was as gorgeous and natural so I definitely would recommend this one. I have decided to apply it all over and again it was easy to apply, I also did it by myself. It didn’t streak again and looks natural.

Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne

Ye probably know how much I love strong and sensuous/mysterious scents and I had bought The Body Shop’s White Musk Smokey Rose a while back because I had finished my Coco Chanel perfume and I was on a hunt for another strong and mysterious scent. I do like that perfume still and I normally finish my perfumes before buying another but I still wanted something I guess more special and I guess in a way that Body Shop perfume didn’t satisfy me.

So while in Brown Thomas I went to the Jo Malone counter and the gorgeous lady there, she was super stylish!, asked if I needed assistance and I told her I was looking for a strong scent and that I was stuck with two other ones, Tom Ford’s Black Orchid and Chanel’s Coco Noir. She smelled them and then let me smell one of her favourites and the one she wears herself. Velvet Rose and Oud.

It is a scent that is described on the Jo Malone website as “Darkest Damask Rose. Rich and textural, wrapped with smoky oud wood. Spiked with clove, decadent with praline. Magnetic.”

For me it is sensuous and also mysterious, it is a sort of strong scent but not over powering and I find that it’s gone the next day. Well I can’t smell it on my wrists anymore but it is a beautiful scent. The lady at the Jo Malone counter applied the grapefruit body lotion on top and it did give it a kick which it needs. I didn’t get it because the perfume, itself, is €120 for the 100ml bottle. I am very happy I got it though and definitely feel satisfied with that and have let my other perfume sitting there on the shelf.

I recommend for you to smell it and see what you think and add the grapefruit on top. What do you think? Do you own any Jo Malone fragrances? What is your signature scent? By the way I gotta mention that they package they’re fragrances in a gorgeous box and with a ribbon. It would make a gorgeous Christmas present.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Review

Hey guys

I went into boots probably a week and a bit ago and found out that Smashbox was stocked there. I was so happy because it was in Debenhams before and they stopped stocking them so I was happy that I could purchase more Smashbox products now that it was in Limerick again. I was going to get my favourite liquid liner but decided to get a sample of their primer that is for oily skin.

In the box there were two other primers, I will review later on, for under eye and eye lid. I was eager to try it out and this primer sample box cost €16 which I thought was good.

I tried the primer with my Giorgio Armani foundation (review) but since that foundation was meant to mattify my face I felt that it didn’t work well together. It made my skin look all flaky and not good at all. So I decided to try it out with my YSL Teint Touche Eclat Foundation and found that they’re perfect together.

without primer

with primer

with ysl foundation on top

So far I really like this primer. I like that when I put it on after my moisturiser it mattifies my face and you can see it instantly. The full size of this primer costs around €30 It is a lot but I do think it is a good one for me. Especially with my YSL foundation. I don’t think I could wear it with my Giorgio Armani foundation so I would recommend either moisturising the heck out of your face before hand or just wear it under a foundation that will give you a glow.

Let me know what you think? Have you tried it? What other Smashbox products would you recommend?

Blackhead Killer Mask Review

Hey guys,

Well I was contacted a few days ago or a week I think, by Style Lux asking if I wanted to review a product for them. I went onto their website and found that ye could be interested. They sent me out a Blackhead Killer mask (5 sachets which retail at £15)which is used to remove blackheads and I was excited to try it out as I have never tried anything to remove blackheads and I have to admit I do have some as well as whiteheads ewwww.

So the packet says that after 10mins of it drying you gotta peel it off gently. I got excited because I’ve always wanted to try out a mask that I could peel off!…the child in me comes out every now and then.

I applied all of what was in the sachet (10ml) I did that because I never knew if I had to apply all of it or not. I used my fingers. The mask is very gooey and hmm it was a bit hard to put on but I got it done. With warm water what was left over on my fingers came off easily. After 10mins of waiting the mask still wasn’t dry but I’m not sure if it’s because I applied the whole contents of the sachet.

IMG_5111 IMG_5114

I waited 5 more mins and started to peel off the parts that were already dry and left the wet part alone. I had left it to dry at 1;20 and by 1;45 some parts weren’t dried yet but the parts of my face where were mask free looked flawless.

IMG_5115 IMG_5118 IMG_5120 IMG_5121 IMG_5126

I found that it did peel off easily once it dried up. Also now I know why it says to peel off gently because the little hairs at the parts of your jaws and close to your ear…well it seems like it’s peeling off the hairs also but I don’t think it did.

I then just rinsed it off as I don’t know if I had to clean it with cleanser or not but my skin felt soft after I pat dried it.

So I’ll share the Good and the Bad.

First off I’ll give you the bad which is just that it doesn’t dry off fast enough but like I said I don’t know if I applied it properly so I guess that is another bad, for beginners. Not knowing if you’re supposed to apply all that’s in the sachet.

The good is that it didn’t irritate my skin (I was scared of that for some reason), it peeled off easily when it dried and also my nose seemed to be clear of the nasty whiteheads and my chin almost cleared of the blackheads. My skin, after cleansing, felt soft.

I would definitely recommend it if you have stubborn blackheads and whiteheads. It’s brilliant and I’m glad I have four more sachets to help my skin be clear of those nasties.

Have you tried this product before? Do you have any tips for me? Let me know.

Pretavoir..Sunglasses Haven

Hey guys 🙂

I was contacted a few months ago, before I left for Cuba, by Pretavoir asking if I would like to do a review and I couldn’t say no. To be honest I was so excited that they had asked me! It was just a few days before I left for Cuba so they told me to contact them after I came back and I did. I picked out the Ray Ban Justin Wayfarer in Havana (it was suggested for me) and haha I just realised the name of it now as I type :/ But anyways I had picked that one after the one I originally had picked out was sold out…but I am happy I was able to get this one!

I had picked it out on the 14th and it arrived today! Amazing speedy delivery. The staff was patient and very nice when I was trying to pick out another pair.

Pretavoir have been around since 2009 and have gained a reputation of brilliant customer service and bringing authentic designer sunglasses to their customers worldwide. To be honest I can see why…they have a range of designer glasses and sunglasses which cater to anyones style and also they have a knowledge of what is current right now and have what every fashionista needs to keep their faces accessorised and their eyes protected.

I can’t stop staring at them right now! Ahhh Ray Bans..they are always so desireable and sometimes they can make an outfit! They have a gorgeous lens and makes everything look pretty when wearing them! I also love the case…I don’t know what material it is but it feels lovely and soft and I love the way it’s ombreyd (Is that a word? Lets just pretend it is :D)

IMG_8170 IMG_8172 IMG_8190 IMG_8196 IMG_8199 IMG_8201 IMG_8202 IMG_8224

But if you don’t really like Ray Bans don’t worry because, as I have previously mentioned, they have other brands and maaaaan the sunglasses they have are amazing!!! (They have those gorgeous Prada Baroque Sunglasses! *drooling over here) Here are a few of my favourites and I’m sure you can see a trend going on…I love cat eye frames!

Now Pretavoir offer sunglasses but also they have glasses so you can look stylish if you’re a glasses wearer and you can be happy because they have amazing designer glasses as well like the gorgeous Chanel ones. They also have competitive prices so you will find your perfect pair at a better price than what you can get out there.

So…what do I think… I will definitely shop here and get my next pair from them! Fast delivery, competitive prices and amazing ranges…what more can I ask for! Can’t wait to style my Ray Bans!

What do you think? Which are your favourite pair?

You can find them on twitter and facebook!

SK II Facial Treatment Cleanser – Review

Hey guys 🙂

I was so lucky to be sent this amazing product from Harrods a week ago, they have different ranges of SK II for any of your skin needs, to review for ye guys 🙂

IMG_7975 IMG_7976_2

Before being sent this beauty brand I didn’t really know much about them but knew the name so I was curious and a little worried (because of me being allergic to some ingredients and not knowing which they are.) I researched the brand and found out that SK II is a very well known brand and one that is highly regarded as it contains an ingredient, Pitera, which keeps your skin looking young.

Aqua(Water), Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Propylene Glycol, PEG-150 Stearate, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate ***, Sodium PCA, Glycol Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Cocamide MEA, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Stearamide AMP, Pentylene Glycol, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, BHT, Phenethyl Alcohol, Triclosan, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

I have been in need of a good cleanser for a while now and from the first time I tried the SK II Facial Treatment Cleanser I immediately loved it. It’s supposed to be for all skin types and has a gorgeous rose scent. When I squeezed it out of the bottle I noticed that it was a thick formula but when I started to lather it up it spread everywhere. It didn’t foam up much like I would have thought but that’s not a problem. After I pat my face dry I had to do a double take because my skin looked like it had a glow to it and my pores didn’t look as obvious as they normally do when I cleanse my skin and also my skin felt soft. It was something unusual for me to see straight after washing my face as normally my face looks dull and pore-y.

IMG_7998 IMG_8001 IMG_8004 IMG_8009 IMG_8010 IMG_8013 IMG_8012

I decided to moisturise after anyway and when I looked in the mirror again I saw that there were some dry bits but my face didn’t feel tight at all. The dry bits were on my cheeks and a little on my chin but that’s all. However, after I put on my Estee Lauder Daywear Moisturiser Lotion the dry bits were gone and my skin was normal. I went online and searched for some reviews and the ones I checked seem to have no problem with their face drying a bit. I do have to say though that it’s nothing that is bothering me because as soon as I moisturise it is gone.

I am very glad to have been sent this cleanser as now I have found a good cleanser that leaves your skin looking gorgeous after it is cleansed. It is a bit pricey, retailing at £38 though but I know it’ll go a long way since you only have to use a pea sized amount (from reviews it seems like it has lasted a year for them). I will be using it again and again and if I have any more to update ye on I will 🙂

I have already told my mum about this product and want to get her the Facial Treatment Essence for her birthday as I’ve heard it is supposed to be brilliant also. You can find that in their Brightening range on Harrods’ website.

I always say that if you were to invest in one thing, the let that be your skin. I will definitely be recommending this brand to my boyfriend’s mother, his family, my friend’s mothers…everyone.

Thank you Harrods for letting me review this brilliant cleanser.

Let me know what you think and also let me know if you have tried this brand or this cleanser. What did you think?

Jeffrey Campbell Patent Coltrane – Review

Hey guys 🙂

It has been almost 2 months, possibly more, since I got my Coltranes and I gotta say I love them! They are perfect for wearing them every day and with everything. Ever since they came out I’ve wanted them, but before then I wanted the Roscoes and unfortunately I couldn’t find them anywhere 😦 So when I had seen the Coltranes I had to have em! I originally wanted the oxblood ones but they sold out when I was going to get them 😦 So I decided to go for the new ones which were the patent ones which I also loved.

I got them from Folkster and they’re brilliant with their speedy delivery. Also because it was over 150 the shipping was free..yipeee!

When I got them I first couldn’t believe they were finally mine. So I stared at them and posted a photo on instagram (as you do..) After that I didn’t take them off for three days. I took them off after the third day because I got nasty blisters all over my feet 😦 But of course that is what you can expect with new shoes. You gotta break them in and do expect your feet to hurt like hell for a while.

When I had researched them before I was worried that the heel would be made of foam and it could probably wear down fast (opinion of a vlogger in her review) but I was happy and tested it by digging my nail into it that it was made of rubber and I didn’t have to worry at all.

However they are comfy and perfect to walk around. I’m sure that when I have broken them in I won’t take them off at all. I brought them to Cuba with me but I found them to be too heavy for the 30+ heat and humidity so I wore my sandals most of the time.

I noticed one of the days before leaving for Cuba that one of the little silver thingies on one of the straps was missing but few minutes later I found it. I was  worried that it would come off without me knowing about it but I thought that I put it back on securely. The day we were leaving to go back home from Cuba I noticed it was missing again but this time I could do nothing about it as we had just passed the security. So if you do have a pair just be mindful that it could fall off. I know it’s not something you should be worried about especially when they’re shoes that are expensive.

I, however, am still happy with them and don’t let that little silver thingy bother me so I would still recommend them just know that it will probably come off.

Hope you liked the review and I will have a video up one of these days showing them to you….

Hope you have a great day and hope this helped.
