AW14 Favourites and Must Haves

Hey guys,

The best season for fashion is here! I am soo excited to get layering and just dressing in mostly black and dark colours…I do that anyways but it feels better when it’s Autumn. I’m sure you know what I mean.

So..I have a bit of news..This post marks my third year blogging. Yup I’ve been blogging for three years and I’m still loving it!

Velvet..ahhh velvet you make my mouth water every time I mention your name..velvet. Yes it is a standard AW trend but hey when it’s good it’s good..right?! Who does it better than Saint Laurent? No one.

Saint Laurent

Here is how I would style this dress.. I know the 60’s look is very much a trend this session and you can see it everywhere so this dress is the perfect way for you to kill two trends with one stone. I decided to keep it very dark and well I like my Autumn/Winter to be like that because there is a darkness in all of us and I find it comes out in AW.
Velvet

Another trend which I am in LOVE with and find that we women can pull it off way better than men…is the androgynous look. Cara Delevingne showed how good we can do it when she attended yesterday’s Burberry SS15 show. She was wearing the most gorgeous suit ever and she did it a la Chanel with a sneaker. Also my fave suits are from Saint Laurent.
Andro-Genius

I went for a very minimalistic and almost a nod to the sports luxe trend which is still very popular and from what I’ve seen from the Fashion Weeks it’s going to stay for SS15.
Suited and Booted

Last but not least is capes! Capes Capes Capes…I gotta get me some capes! This was seen the most at the Saint Laurent show (you can tell I’m in love with Saint Laurent can’t ya?). Everything from fur to wool..it’s all there for us and I can’t wait to invest in a cape. I want to feel like Red Riding Hood but without a wolf wanting to eat me of course. Imagine if a wolf just magically appears wanting to eat you every time you put on your cape! O_O
I decided to pair the cape with how I would wear it (of course) and also you can easily dress up a cape. It’s for every occasion.

Make it Electric!

Hey guys,

lucky you if you’re going to Electric Picnic! Hope you enjoy yourselves! If you can’t yet decide or if you haven’t yet bought your festival outfit then Warehouse will help you out with the perfect festival ready outfit.

Because our weather is so temperamental you can never be too careful in what to pack for a festival. So it’s best to be prepare. What better place than Warehouse. I love how individual yet trendy they are and they always have something for any occasion.

Denim cut offs are a must for any festival and going the boho chic way is the best way, in my opinion. You can pear denim cut offs with anything and here you can see how you can do that very easily. A backpack for all your necessities is a must and I would definitely recommend going for either a faux leather or real leather one like the red one below.

Another outfit which would be easy to put together and can be transformed is a dress. You can make it boho chic again or uber 90’s. Pair it with the hat of the season, fedora, and away you go.

image004-2

Last but not least is my favourite look. It’s super rock chick and one that I would definitely wear. I live in jeans and these are amazing. The knee slit is on trend this season and can you believe I have not gotten myself a pair yet?! These Warehouse ones look AMAAAAZING!

I hope this has helped you in choosing your perfect festival outfit. Which would you choose?

My Ideal Summer Escape

I decided to enter the Blogger Competition which I would advise you to also if you are a blogger of course because the prize is amazing!

You have to show them what your ideal summer escape would be in any form you like and I chose to use Polyvore.

My ideal summer escape is definitely sunny California…I was working all last week and it decided to be the warmest week we’ve had yet and now when I’m off it decided to be raining (Typical! Stupid Irish Weather) so that is why I chose sunny Cali. I want to actually live there sometime in the near future (fingers crossed) because I just need the sun and what better place then California.

I would love to go around and just experience the California vibe and the gorgeousness of the desert in my Harley Davidson. (yes I plan to own one hopefully!) I want to watch the palm trees go by as I cruise on my Harley. So of course you have to keep your peepers safe and what better way than with Pretavoir’s new Sherbet Collection! They’re gorgeous candy colours and I love the one I chose. It seems to have a mirrored effect lens and it’s a pastel-y pink shade which compliments the outfit I chose.

I went for the Mickey One Teaspoon Awesome Baggies and a striped shirt with some nude Karen Millen boots. Of course you can wear a leather jacket for when it cools at night and perhaps a fedora. But that would be my ideal summer escape and I hope to make it a reality sooner rather than later!

Dylan Penn in Karen Millen’s ‘No More Tiaras’ Campaign

image002-5Dylan Penn, actress and daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright, is starring in Karen Millen’s short film ‘No More Tiaras’. To celebrate the opening of their new flagship stores on London’s Brompton Road and New York’s 5th Avenue they collaborated with emerging talent from both sides of the pond to bring you this short film.

With 13 US stores and a highly successful partnership with Bloomingdales in 15 locations with a further 5 scheduled to open in 2014/15, the brand’s US business continues to grow. International expansion also continues with further planned openings in Canada, Norway, India and Taipei for 2014.

The film is a fun, engaging and affectionate look at the brands evolution into the international accessible luxury house it has become today. You can watch the short film below.

The Evolution of Karen Millen

The Karen Millen collection has evolved over the past few years to offer a luxurious high low mix of perfectly cut trend-led pieces and seasonal wardrobe staples including their iconic biker jacket. For the SS14 season the essence is the same, but the attitude has changed: Karen Millen is confident but smiling, strong but easy and this fresh spirit is encapsulated in their new SS14 collection. Every piece is designed, cut and finished in the brand’s design studio based in Shoreditch, London, ensuring that Karen Millen continues to stand for exceptional quality, craftsmanship and cutting edge design.

Karen Millen’s new mini film stars Dylan Penn who is fast becoming the fashion wolrd’s biggest girl crush

She is making a name for herself because of her acting and fashion credentials. As well as landing a Vogue spread alongside Kendall Jenner this week, she also working it in Karen Millen’s just released ‘No More Tiaras’ campaign. She acts alongside gorgeous ladies of the modelling, arts and acting worlds-Langley Fox Hemingway, Stephanie La Cava, and Adwoa Aboah.

In the mini fashion film, the girls play beauty queens from the US and UK competing in the ‘Miss Galaxy Beauty Pageant 2014’. But it’s clear, that from the opening scene, the ladies don’t want to play fair. This movie sees them take over the show with plenty of attitude in their covetable Karen Millen outfits.

Watch the movie and leave your thoughts in the comments

There’s great news! You can now shop the ‘No More Tiara’s edit right now! Here are some o my favourite items styled the way I would love to wear them. Let me know what you think.

Glenstal Abbey Day Out + OOTD

The Gardens at Glenstal Abbey

The Gardens at Glenstal Abbey

Last Thursday it was a gorgeous, cloudy, day. It was warm so that is why I’m calling it gorgeous.. I finally didn’t have to wear warm coats and a scarf woohoo. We went to Glenstal Abbey and it’s gorgeous there. If you’re ever in Ireland and you want to visit a peaceful place then this is it. It’s a boarding school for boys but it’s also a place where you can go and walk around the gardens also there’s a shop at the reception and you can get gorgeous accessories, soaps, cutlery etc there and my bf got me a Belleek ring there which I love!

We walked for a bit, we first went to the walled gardens and of course there was a good opportunity to take outfit photos. It would be rude not to…for you guys I mean :p

I went with a crisp white suit kind of look yet keeping it casual with my gorgeous tank top from Silver Factory and River Island plimsolls. The trousers are from Mango (I styled it in a previous post here) and the jacket is from H&M which you can’t get unfortunately but O’Donnell Boutique have a similar one here.

IMG_2547 IMG_2549 IMG_2551

I love this look and I am loving the minimal/monochrome trend as you probably have realized from my latest posts. I just left my accessories at a minimum and just wore my trusty Michael Kors watch and my new ring.

IMG_2545 IMG_2553 IMG_2555 IMG_2554

I left my make up, again, at a minimum and I was wearing my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Desert Beige, MAC Kinda Sexy Lipstick and my Chanel mascara.

I will leave you with some photos I took at Glenstal Abbey. My holiday week is almost over (sad face) but I enjoyed the rest nonetheless. Hope you’re week is going good. Let me know what you think as always.

Minimal & Monochrome

Minimal & Monochrome

I’m loving these two trends and I finally found the perfect off white trousers so I can start completing this outfit for myself. I just kept it simple and also I made it very menswear inspired but with a sensual/mysterious touch.

Step Brightly Into This Season With ModCloth

Hey guys,

I was contacted by Mod Cloth to style one of their gorgeous dresses and the dress that I had to style is gorgeous. I only heard of Mod Cloth once before and as soon as I went on the website I was intrigued by it and found little gems there from brands/designers I hadn’t heard of. I fell in love with Olivia Burton watches and I’m loving BB Dakota items. I had never heard of them before either. So glad I went on their website and trust me you’ll find unique pieces there it’s worth a look!

But anyways…back to the dress! The dress screams SS14 as well as fun, feminine and flirty. It is something that you could wear to a lunch date or while going shopping. It just makes everything bright and it makes me happy looking at it, as cheesy as it sounds. They also have more gorgeous dresses in their store so do check them out here

Screen Shot 2014-04-30 at 22.14.17

I love the turquoise and blue floral print on this BB Dakota dress. It’s very feminine and that is why I wanted to keep it that way when looking for shoes on their site. However, as I do love adding a little uniqueness to the outfit I thought that these holographic heels would suit them perfectly. I love that they will also be comfortable to walk around in if you were to go shopping with your girlfriends all day.

I decided to go with the turquoise bag because I thought it was cute and would add another little uniqueness to it. However, once again, to make it me I decided to pair it with a leather jacket and I picked a white one which would definitely still keep it Spring/Summer and bright.

For jewellery I kept it simple with just a watch, bracelet and necklace. Of course if it is a gorgeous sunny day then you need to protect your peepers and these cat eye sunglasses (I’m still in love with cat eye frames!) are stunning. It will go well with the outfit and won’t take from it.

Hopefully you like the way I styled this dress and do check out their website, there are great things there which are also reasonably priced. Let me know what you think in the comment box below.

OOTD | White Dreaming

Hey guys,

So I want to apologize for not posting this second outfit when I said I would. I was just too tired yesterday and I hadn’t it written or anything. But anyways better late than never right?

This outfit I actually just bought on Sunday, I wanted to get an all white outfit that will be perfect for this season and also something I can incorporate into my wardrobe. I decided to go to H&M for it because I know they are great for basics and for them being cheap as well. I have two pieces on even though it looks like one. I’ve a bodycon tank dress, white, which is under the t-shirt dress you can see. The one underneath you will need to wear nude or white underwear so that’s why I chose to put the t-shirt one over it as I don’t own any nude underwear. (I must invest in some though!)

IMG_2222 IMG_2223 IMG_2224 IMG_2226 IMG_2228

The Zara heels I also bought on Sunday and am so happy they brought these back because I missed out on them last year. They are gorgeous and only cost me €40. Great for leather heeled sandals. I got the lace socks at TK Maxx..I’m so happy I found them in the clearance section because I had been looking for lace socks since last year and finally I have them! They were only €2. I only go there now to get underwear and socks. I used to go to Topshop but they’re gone. I actually seen some Victor & Rolf and Balenciaga heels in there for €200! I wish I had been able to afford the Balenciaga ones. Definitely go to your nearest TK Maxx and look out for the designer bargains!

My leather jacket is from Mango from a few years ago and it’s such great quality. However, I did see 2 or 3 leather jackets they have in stock now and they are gorgeous!

Let me know what you think of the outfit and let me know if you would wear something like this or even if you’ve purchased an outfit that would be perfect for the Spring/Summer.

Pastel Lovin OOTD (Burberry SS14 Inspired)

Hey guys,

It’s been a while since I did an outfit post but I finally got the chance to shoot one. I’m just so tired after work and in the days I’m off I just want to relax. But today I finally had the energy to do an outfit post…finding a great inspirational outfit helps as well.

It was my birthday last Friday (I turned 26) and since I had received money I went into Zara and tried on a top I had fallen in love with and after trying out the white lace skirt with it I then decided to get it as well. I’m so happy! I never really was into pastels but this season Burberry just made me fall in love with them and I am so glad I have a Burberry SS14 inspired outfit.

So anyways here is my outfit. All three are from Zara. Oh and if you have any suggestions for shoes to go with it I would love to know as the only one I really have that would go with it are the shoes I paired them up with but I am thinking of pastel pink and metallic silver. What do you think?

IMG_2144 IMG_2145 IMG_2146 IMG_2147 IMG_2150 IMG_2153 IMG_2154

Make up is all YSL apart from Foundation which is Giorgio Armani.

Let me know what you think.

Fashion/Style Inspiration and Desire

Hey guys,

How are ye getting on? I have been fine, busy with work and last Thursday I was given the great opportunity to style for a fashion show. Myself and Elaine, from O’Donnell Boutique, picked out 16 outfits and it was so exciting on Thursday. I loved the rush! Can’t wait to style for another fashion show!

I am loving wearing black everyday and even though I have no money to buy as much as I used to (the independent life :/) I am thankful I have loads of black in my wardrobe. I wish I had more black skinny jeans though and wish the weather was better! But anyways..here is what has inspired me.
