ITWBN

Hey guys so I’m back (how many times have I said that right?) I have been working non-stop and have lost the motivation to blog but fear not I’ve regained it and hopefully you’re as excited as I am :p

I want to begin this next chapter (In September I’ll be blogging for 3 years?!) with a blog post on the blogger event I recently attended. It was organised by the lovely Sinead from Yummy Mummy Fashion and Lifestyle blog and it was great.

The venue was also beautiful! It was the Gaslight Restaurant at the Meyrick Hotel and my gosh it’s such a beautiful Hotel. It’s bang in the centre of Galway city and it’s close to everything. It’s perfect if you’re there for a city break or a weekend/weekday escape.

I arrived there and was greeted by super stylish bloggers..we were all greeted with cocktails which were amazing!

We then sat down in our designated area to talk about different topics that were on the table. While we were talking the Gaslight staff brought us over some yummy foodie goodies. They were delicious.

Best Dressed Winner At Galway Races

It’s the time for the races and we all love to dress up and hopefully win the prize for Best Dressed. This time that prize went to the lovely Helen Murphy from Cork, Winner of Best Dressed at the Ladies Day at the Galway Races, and she was wearing a stunning skirt from Coast! It’s a beautiful full turquoise skirt and her outfit was amazing.

So girly, fun yet still chic.

The skirt is the RITA 50’s midi skirt and it is lovely how she has paired it here but you can also go with a metallic top as well or add another colour, perhaps a pastel pink. I decided to style this skirt three ways. I still kept it’s femininity with the tops by adding two different colours and the third one I added a different texture, lace. I think this look is topped off nicely with a metallic silver shoe and a quirky/clean handbag.

Retail Fashion Intern’s OOTD

Hey guys,

So I know I promised a few OOTDs while I was on my week’s holidays but well I just decided to enjoy it since it was just one week. But I am back with an OOTD and hmm did any of you want me to do a review of any of the items from my 5 faves of the week post?

As you all know I have been working since Feb (read all about it here) and  I am loving it. I sometimes just get stuck in a rut and don’t come up with any nice outfits for work but today I was really happy with what I put on. It’s not something amazing but I like it anyways.

IMG_2856 IMG_2862

I bought the One Teaspoon gold Iggy’s in their sale and it is just $5 AUD which is amazing! and to ship to Ireland it’s $30 but it’s fine. Now they’re not as gold as on the site as you can tell from the photos and jeepers when they say stiff on the description they really mean stiff! I have them now for 2 weeks and today I finally wore them. I had to run some errands and jeepers my legs were tired after walking in them. So they’re good to get a work out in!

IMG_2858 IMG_2845

However I think they look so chic with all black and have them as the statement. Hope I made sense. I wanted to wear them with my Toga Pulla Blue Suede boots but they’re not short enough and they’re not good when turned up…on me anyways. I went with my trusty cut out Topshop shoes.

IMG_2840 IMG_2841

I got this stunning top in Zara yesterday with another stunning piece which I’ll show you in another ootd and I’m so glad I got it because it’s amazing and it was just €13 in the sale!

IMG_2859 IMG_2842

I am wearing my O’Donnell Boutique jacket with the cutouts and I think that jacket is the best thing ever invented! It’s so soft and I live in it basically.

On my face I have on Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Desert Beige and I have on my new Chanel lipstick in Rouge Noir which is stunning!

Hope you like this outfit and do let me know what you think.

5 Of My Favourite Things This Week

Hey guys,

How have you been? I’m on my one week holiday at the moment and have been itching to do more blog posts and I am planning to do a few outfit posts this week so do look out for them and do remember that if you do want to know when my next post will be you should subscribe/follow my blog and then you will get a notification when I post something new.

I decided to do this post because well if I were to do a monthly favourites post then you’ll be reading forever so, being inspired by Taylor from My Lucite Dreams 5 Things this week where she shares her faves for that specific week, I am going to try to do this every week..if I have favourites and then you can see what I’m loving. Also I have noticed that you do prefer my reviews of products so if you do want to see more reviews of anything or even any item I show in my faves of the week then do let me know in the comments section below. I’d appreciate your feedback.

Anyways lets start. I have 4 beauty items that I have been using for more than a week but had to share as I have been using it almost all of last week. (The foundation I did purchase last Thursday but I had been using the sample I was given before).

I am so in LOVE with my boots and every time I walk the buckles make noise just like a cowboy would. They’re comfy if you don’t wear them on a day that is above 20 degrees and they just add such style and chicness to any outfit! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I got them at the Brown Thomas sale but you can get the same ones on Farfetch

Rciprocity | Luxury Handbags With A Difference

Screen Shot 2014-05-25 at 19.49.24

Rciprocity is a sisterhood. It’s a way of life, it is a way to help a life, a soul. A woman…an entrepreneur. Rciprocity is bringing you luxurious hand bags made to give back. It helps one woman (or group of women) to achieve their dreams. When you buy a bag you are basically making someone’s dream possible.

Screen Shot 2014-05-25 at 19.54.56As it says above it is a hand bag which you CANNOT knock off because there is something behind buying that bag with Rciprocity. There is that feeling of being fulfilled…you have done something good. All the bags are designed globally, including places like the mecca of fashion, Florence, Italy and they are finished to the highest standard. It is a piece of luxury which you can be grateful for having and you won’t be looking at it thinking ‘why did I buy this I never wear it.’

Screen Shot 2014-05-25 at 20.01.25

The best thing is that when you help one of these women entrepreneurs you can see their progress. I’ll also let you in on a secret, “you can actually suggest what you would like the designers to design using their contact form, it’s not something they have on the website, but when speaking with the founder, she said they want to make it collaborative and so consumers “who happen to know” can email their ideas and it will be definitely taken into consideration and they could receive that bag for free if they decide to pursue it.  Each bag is unique and most are handmade, it comes with a charm and the Rciprocity logo so you will be reminded of what good you have done.

I am in love with the bags that their designers have created. Their so unique and I would like to share with you my favourites

I talked to one of the founders, Sherna, maybe a month or so ago and I was so excited when she was telling me about Rciprocity. It’s such a great idea and I just wish everyone would think like them. I love that they’re helping women. We all need to unite and stop bitching about and at each other. If we untie as one, as a sisterhood, then we can Rule the WORLD. We, women, are better as one and are way better than men (sorry but it’s true) we analyze and try to come up with the best possible solution instead of just going to war in a second. We basically talk things through so that is why I am in love with what they are doing and I hope that this is going to be uber successful and I have no doubts it will. When my funds are good I will for sure be buying hand bags from them because it’ll give me the satisfaction of knowing that I just spent my money but I helped another woman. I might sound a bit feminist but to be honest..I am and I’m proud. Let me know what you think and I hope that you too are as excited about this as I am. I hope, if you can help, you will help them by buying a bag. But anyways I hope you like this post, make sure to go on their website and sign up to their mailing list as they will be launching soon so you know when that will be and oh! let me know your opinion in the comments below.

My Ideal Summer Escape

I decided to enter the Blogger Competition which I would advise you to also if you are a blogger of course because the prize is amazing!

You have to show them what your ideal summer escape would be in any form you like and I chose to use Polyvore.

My ideal summer escape is definitely sunny California…I was working all last week and it decided to be the warmest week we’ve had yet and now when I’m off it decided to be raining (Typical! Stupid Irish Weather) so that is why I chose sunny Cali. I want to actually live there sometime in the near future (fingers crossed) because I just need the sun and what better place then California.

I would love to go around and just experience the California vibe and the gorgeousness of the desert in my Harley Davidson. (yes I plan to own one hopefully!) I want to watch the palm trees go by as I cruise on my Harley. So of course you have to keep your peepers safe and what better way than with Pretavoir’s new Sherbet Collection! They’re gorgeous candy colours and I love the one I chose. It seems to have a mirrored effect lens and it’s a pastel-y pink shade which compliments the outfit I chose.

I went for the Mickey One Teaspoon Awesome Baggies and a striped shirt with some nude Karen Millen boots. Of course you can wear a leather jacket for when it cools at night and perhaps a fedora. But that would be my ideal summer escape and I hope to make it a reality sooner rather than later!

Leather Me Up | OOTD

IMG_2651

I wanted to wear something that was Saint Laurent inspired. I had on my nude heels and silver glitter socks before I decided to change to my Zara heels and yes my white ankle socks cause I can’t go bare foot especially in this cold weather we’re having. I went for a, kind of, monochrome look with my Zara and H%M pieces.

I got these leather look trousers in H&M two days ago and I’m so glad I did cause they’re brilliant and if you see them in your local H&M get them! They’re €30.

My top, jacket and shoes are all from Zara. You can get the shoes now but don’t think the jacket is available anymore.

Dylan Penn in Karen Millen’s ‘No More Tiaras’ Campaign

image002-5Dylan Penn, actress and daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright, is starring in Karen Millen’s short film ‘No More Tiaras’. To celebrate the opening of their new flagship stores on London’s Brompton Road and New York’s 5th Avenue they collaborated with emerging talent from both sides of the pond to bring you this short film.

With 13 US stores and a highly successful partnership with Bloomingdales in 15 locations with a further 5 scheduled to open in 2014/15, the brand’s US business continues to grow. International expansion also continues with further planned openings in Canada, Norway, India and Taipei for 2014.

The film is a fun, engaging and affectionate look at the brands evolution into the international accessible luxury house it has become today. You can watch the short film below.

The Evolution of Karen Millen

The Karen Millen collection has evolved over the past few years to offer a luxurious high low mix of perfectly cut trend-led pieces and seasonal wardrobe staples including their iconic biker jacket. For the SS14 season the essence is the same, but the attitude has changed: Karen Millen is confident but smiling, strong but easy and this fresh spirit is encapsulated in their new SS14 collection. Every piece is designed, cut and finished in the brand’s design studio based in Shoreditch, London, ensuring that Karen Millen continues to stand for exceptional quality, craftsmanship and cutting edge design.

Karen Millen’s new mini film stars Dylan Penn who is fast becoming the fashion wolrd’s biggest girl crush

She is making a name for herself because of her acting and fashion credentials. As well as landing a Vogue spread alongside Kendall Jenner this week, she also working it in Karen Millen’s just released ‘No More Tiaras’ campaign. She acts alongside gorgeous ladies of the modelling, arts and acting worlds-Langley Fox Hemingway, Stephanie La Cava, and Adwoa Aboah.

In the mini fashion film, the girls play beauty queens from the US and UK competing in the ‘Miss Galaxy Beauty Pageant 2014’. But it’s clear, that from the opening scene, the ladies don’t want to play fair. This movie sees them take over the show with plenty of attitude in their covetable Karen Millen outfits.

Watch the movie and leave your thoughts in the comments

There’s great news! You can now shop the ‘No More Tiara’s edit right now! Here are some o my favourite items styled the way I would love to wear them. Let me know what you think.
